Course Overview

Accredited awards by some of the top training providers. Here at Langdale we provide an experience like no other achieving a qualification in care. The program is open to individuals with a drive to work in the care industry, as well as those who may already have some experience and are looking to further your career, courses are provided up to and including level 5.

You will be working and training onsite, having your very own tutor. Not only are they here to assist you in your pathway but also ensure you are learning at the right pace.

Course specifics depend on the level you are applying and previous qualifications. All courses last a minimum of 12 months including working as well as learning at the same time.

Course outline

Adult Care Worker:

  • adult care practices, principles and standards – including care planning, duty of care, professional boundaries and individual dignity and respect
  • supporting individual physical and mental well-being to help people live as independently as possible – including individual control and choice and person centred care
  • safeguarding – including addressing personal rights and safety, dealing with abuse, comments and complaints and whistleblowing
  • communication skills – including active listening, showing empathy and verbal, non-verbal and written communication
  • health and safety practices and standards within a care environment – including dealing with accidents, fire safety, hazardous substances and infection control

 

Lead Adult Care Worker:

  • All of the above
  • leadership and team management – including monitoring and reviewing care plans and encouraging others to comply with regulations, policies and procedures
 
Lead Practitioner in Adult Care:
  • assessing care needs of individuals
  • coaching and mentoring team members
  • assessing performance and quality of care delivery
  • communication skills
  • safeguarding and risk management policies and procedures
 
Leader in Adult Care:
  • leadership and management
  • monitoring and reporting on health and wellbeing
  • legal frameworks and codes of practice to deliver safe care
  • appraisals and disciplinary procedures

  • Adult Care Worker - Level 1 English & Maths.
  • Lead Adult Care Worker - Level 2 English & Maths
  • The Lead Practitioner in Adult Care - Level 2 English & Maths
  • Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management - Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for adult care.
